Peter Ziras, founder, partner and managing director of Inxmail, has been an Inxmail pioneer from the very beginning. His focus is always on the market and its dynamics. Together with his sales team, he ensures the sustainable business development of Inxmail and is always open to strategic partnerships that promote data-driven communication.
Petra Maelzer, as a member of the management board, is responsible for corporate strategy and the further development of Inxmail's product portfolio. With her strategic mindset and in-depth understanding of the market, she ensures Inxmail's visibility and growth opportunities, especially as a networker and initiator in association work (bitkom, DDV, BVDW).

From the logo to the website and the newsletter to Inxmail Professional: Inxmail is celebrating its 20th anniversary in style! We have experienced a great deal, continuously developed and asserted ourselves in times of changing market requirements by consistently aligning our products, services and internal processes with our customers and partners: As a result, Inxmail is now internationally successful as a service-oriented best-of-breed provider. We are celebrating this with a new corporate identity and, as in the past, we will continue to shape the world of email marketing in the future.
How can we best support our partners? How can we work together to get the best out of our customers' email marketing? We have not only asked ourselves these questions, but also our partners, and have relaunched our partner program. The new program adapts to the diverse business models of our partners and offers the possibility of certification. What hasn't changed is the close exchange: our partner managers continue to attend partner events, trade fairs and congresses.
Inxmail has always hosted its servers exclusively in Germany and attaches great importance to the high quality of its software. In 2017, we received two awards for this: The Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e. V. (BITMi) awarded Inxmail Professional and Inxmail Commerce the “Software Hosted in Germany” and “Software Made in Germany” seals of approval.
In 2015, Inxmail is inviting 200 marketing professionals to the Inspire conference in Cologne to get inspiration for their email marketing. The program offers exciting presentations, the opportunity to exchange ideas and insights into the latest innovations from Inxmail. The visitors, including many customers and partners, are enthusiastic.
The online world keeps turning and Inxmail realizes that a solution for transactional and system emails is needed. In 2015, we published our product innovation Inxmail Commerce, which specializes in automated emails relating to the order process such as order confirmations, invoices, password reminders and status messages from online portals.
The first pilot customers are impressed and just one year after the product launch, Inxmail Commerce wins the German Stevie Award in the “Best New Product” category.
In addition to the awards as a job engine and top service provider, we have something else to celebrate in 2014: Inxmail is not letting itself down for its 15th anniversary. All Inxmailers are going sailing on Lake Constance and celebrating into the early hours with a lavish party including fireworks.
From the very beginning and right up to the present day, Inxmail has had one common goal: To be closer to our customers. In 2014, we wanted to find out from our customers themselves. How are our service and individual consulting services received? An audit and a customer survey in the TOP Service Deutschland competition show: Excellent! We haven't rested on our laurels, but have continued to refine our services - and we were even able to improve our result in 2018.
Our blog is a veritable treasure trove of email marketing knowledge. It went online in 2013 and since then we have been feeding the Inxmail blog with tips and tricks, specialist knowledge, application examples and trends.
Inxmail is a Great Place to Work®! This award makes the management particularly proud, as the employees themselves decide on the award: In an anonymous, voluntary survey, Inxmail employees can give their feedback on the working conditions and corporate culture and almost everyone takes part.
In 2015, with the number of employees having doubled in the meantime, Inxmail is once again taking part and it is clear that the exceptionally good working atmosphere has been maintained.
Training courses, specialist presentations, benchmarks, practical tips, webinars - the ideas are bubbling over and from year to year there are more formats in which we pass on our growing knowledge of email marketing to our customers and partners. From 2010, the Inxmail Academy will unite all knowledge formats under one roof. The trainers and email marketing experts do their utmost to prepare the know-how in a way that is fun for the learners.

Happy birthday times two! Inxmail opens a branch in France. In the same year, we celebrate our 10th anniversary, for which our partner rabbit surprises us with a cake.
Inxmail is outgrowing its old offices and is looking for a new home. The two managing directors found what they were looking for right next to Freiburg railroad station. Not only is the central location ideal, but the sustainable construction of the building is also a decisive factor in the choice of the new headquarters. Initially, one floor was enough for Inxmail, but due to constant growth, four more floors are added to this day.
The Inxmail user training courses have been running since 2005. To this day, it is about more than just imparting knowledge about email marketing and the use of Inxmail: Participants get to know the company and their personal consultant in an informal atmosphere. Even back then, we held the training courses at customers' and partners' premises. Today, of course, online is also an option and our training courses now cover all facets of email marketing.
Shortly after the API, we publish our first integration together with the CRM specialist CAS Software. By connecting Inxmail Professional to CAS Genesis World, the CRM solution is extended to include functions for professional email marketing. Further CRM integrations will follow, for example with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. In addition, new partnerships with technology providers such as Dymatrix, Econda, Magento, Shopware, Oxid and many others are being established, which we are constantly maintaining and expanding.
The requirements for marketing software are changing. Instead of isolated solutions, integration capability and networking are in demand. Our answer to this is the Inxmail API: The programming interface is our enabler and the reason why our email marketing solutions can be connected so flexibly to many data sources and third-party systems such as CRM, online store, campaign management, web analysis tools and CMS.
The launch of the Certified Senders Alliance (CSA) in 2005 is an important event for Inxmail and email marketing as a whole: the CSA is a project of the German Dialog Marketing Association (DDV) and eco - Association of the Internet Industry with the aim of increasing the quality of commercial emails through technical and legal quality standards. We are proud to be a founding member of the CSA and are committed to fair email marketing in many ways.
The “rabbits” arrive and our partner network continues to grow rapidly: in 2002, the agency rabbit eMarketing becomes our very first partner. Unic, a Swiss provider of digital solutions, followed just a few months later. A close and trusting partnership as well as hundreds of successful customer projects connect us with both.
Today, the Inxmail partner network consists of more than 200 agencies and technology providers with whom we work hand in hand as a best-of-breed provider for our customers.
The e-mail marketing solution Inxmail Professional is presented to the public for the first time at CeBIT 2002. Since then, we have continued to develop the software and our trade fair stands have also evolved.
In general, Inxmailers are on the road a lot and never miss an opportunity for personal contact with customers and partners - whether at trade fairs, customer visits, partner events or specialist conferences. Direct contact not only gives us a better insight into the requirements and needs of our customers, but the exchange with other experts in the online marketing industry also means we are close to the market and the latest trends.
The official starting signal is given: Martin Bucher and Peter Ziras found their company in Freiburg under the name Inxnet GmbH, which is renamed Inxmail in 2004. The two computer science graduates initially develop software for the medical technology sector.
When they were unable to find a secure and stable solution for sending personalized newsletters for a project, the two entrepreneurs simply took matters into their own hands. They decided to develop the best email marketing software themselves.
In 1998, in a student hall of residence at Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences in the deepest Black Forest, Inxmail founders Martin Bucher and Peter Ziras met and decided: “We want to be our own bosses and do something cool with software.”
Today - 25 years later - this vague idea has grown into a successful email marketing company based in Freiburg. Inxmail now has more than 2,000 customers and 200 partners. 150 employees work towards a common goal: to always be closer to the customer.
